We consider Kale an Essential Ingredient in our kitchenC
It is sturdy (for when we buy it, but don’t clean it immediately)
It is mild (so we can use it in a variety of ways, including Green Smoothie)
It is affordable
(not too long ago, it cost substantially more that mustard, turnip, collard greens)
We buy in bulk (at one time we bought bags of cleaned kale)
After cleaning (the immersion method):
-we chop the stems for use in the curries
-we chop the top greens for Green Smoothies or for adding to our “Slop”
And what we don’t immediately throw into the Curry Pot,
we zip-lock and freeze, one quart portions – squeezing-out all the air
So we have bags of healthy greens to use freely
